Emergencies
No one can anticipate certain types of emergencies after clinic hours, but we know it is important to have a plan when the unexpected happens. Imagine trying to contact your family doctor after his/her office hours end? Usually you would not have an option of speaking to your own physician.
Our current established clients have an old fashioned alternative, speaking directly to their veterinarian. Doctor Sabean usually is available to return your call until 9 pm. Of course there may be circumstances when she is not available due to family or professional commitments. In this case, or if it is after 9 pm, you will be directed immediately to an emergency clinic. Also please note that pets who have not been examined by Dr. Sabean in the last 24 months will be referred to an emergency clinic as well.
Once a determination has been made, it can be decided if emergency care is necessary and where your pet can obtain the best care. Some emergencies can wait until morning hours, others may be treated by Doctor Sabean at Lakeside Vets while the remainder need care by a team of emergency doctors and staff. After hours qualified emergency vets are available to answer your questions and provide ovenight care. The most important fact is that you can obtain solid medical advice when you need it.
